Letter from May 4, 2015

Tuesday: Exchanges to Ontario! I was with Sister Orr (a Sister that I was in the MTC with, but now she's my STL) and it was a total blast. It's been amazing to see how much we've both changed since coming on our missions. We laughed and joked about the MTC and funny experiences we've had since then.

Wednesday: Garden Valley Branch. It's truly an interesting place- seriously. People go there to "get lost"... That's pretty self explanatory right there. But we've been working with Steve some more. We tried to commit him to baptism but he said no. Well, he said that if he were to be baptized then he would be LDS... but he has so many friends in difference faiths that he doesn't want to offend them by "choosing a side". We're still working with him. Our time in Garden Valley was mostly spent trying to contact potential and former investigators and see if they were interested in taking the lessons. It's always hard when you have to drop people... but you just do what you have to do. A funny thing that happened though: We were trying to find a young couple that just moved in to the branch, but no one knew their address. (We found out later that they don't even live there, but that's beside the point. haha)  So we were going door to door and asking people, "Hi! How are ya? Do you know where Jason and Lisa live?" And they would respond that they didn't but that they'd help us find them. "Let's go ask Joe across the street!" hahahaha! Eventually, we had a TON of people walking with us through the streets to find Jason and Lisa... hahahaha! Funniest moment ever. The best part is, they're all old people. So it was just hilarious!

The town of Ola- outside of Sweet.

Thursday: Sweet Ward. For the FIRST TIME EVER since being in this area, we actually had things to do that day! haha! We contacted a lot of former and potential investigators and invited them to learn about the gospel. And we also had a lesson with one of our investigators! Tristan! He's YSA aged, but the Elders that cover the YSA ward don't have the miles to get all the way out here. So we've been teaching him. We were able to teach him about the plan of salvation- and he asked a TON of questions. That's one thing that I love about the YSA age group- they ask a MILLION questions. And they're genuine. They really want to know the truth and how it applies to them.

Friday and Saturday: Butte Ward. Our days in Butte Ward are pretty much the same. We visit April and Tom- and they are still amazing. I can't wait until they're baptized! They're so prepared! And we also visit with Shawn and Casey :) We taught them about the plan of salvation- to which they readily accepted everything. Oh my goodness. They are so awesome! I'm so excited for all of them!

Sunday: Garden Valley Branch. What an interesting day... we went to church at the branch and then went to visit a less active woman named Erica. We showed up and she had PILES of food and clothes!! Oh my goodness... She had gone to the store after church and bought bags of chimichanga's, corn dogs, chicken, burrito's AND iced tea... Yeahhhh... and then she expected us to eat ALL OF IT while we were there. It was interesting. And then she wanted us to teach her the discussions, so we started getting into a lesson and she was just- AWESOME. She genuinely wanted to know the truth and improve in her gospel knowledge. So we forgave her for trying to give us iced tea ;) haha! But then she gave us literally all of the dresses from her closet and told us to give them to other missionaries. whoaaaaa. And there was also a baptism that my companion was involved in and I ran into an old friend from KUNA!!! :D Good times. :)

Tomorrow is my 15 month mark....... insane.
